Sued for a tattoo typo

Tuesday, May 29th, 2007

This article was actually published on May 4th… it is not exactly news, but its ridiculous on the customers end… the artist was trying to give a refund and free correction. The one receiving the tat is suing for $25,000.

I think the customer is just a greedy idiot. You decide…

36% - Tattooed Gen Nexters - Yahoo! News article

Saturday, May 26th, 2007

This article talks about Gen Nexters and Gen Xers and the percentage of both that have tattoos. I am of course a Gen Xer and 40% of us have tattoos. While 36% of Gen Nexters have tattoos, they will probably surpass the Gen Xers when they get to there 30’s.

Gen Nexters — Americans in the 18-25 age bracket — are not afraid to express themselves through their appearance and tattoos are the most popular form of self-expression — more than one-in-three (36%) now has one.

Tattoo Info targeting teens and kids

Monday, May 21st, 2007

Even though this info is targeted at teens the information is valuble for everyone. The article in the context in which it is being delivered is targeting teens and kids. Both groups are very curious about the topic, especially since a lot of mommies and daddies have them.

The Army and tattoos

Friday, May 18th, 2007

Last year the Army changed regulations keeping potentially qualified people from entering the Army. The Army now allows tattoos on the back of the neck and hands as long as they aren’t extremist, indecent, sexist or racist. All tattoos and branding is prohibited on the face and head except in the case of permanent make-up. The Army made these changes because they realized that the number of young people getting tattoos was on the rise. 30% of Americans ages 25 to are tattooed.

To me its funny, weren’t Navy Sailors always getting tattoos? My grandfather was in the Navy and he had a topless hula girl. Talk about sexist. Also in the article it mentioned that even though they have confidence in their soldiers to make the right decisions they should talk to their commanding officer if the have any questions regarding tattoo issues.

If we trust these men and women to defend our country, shouldn’t we trust their judgment involving tattoos?

Johnny Cash Tattoos

Tuesday, May 15th, 2007

So I am totally addicted to Johnny Cash now. I remember my dad listening to him when I was a kid, but I never listened to him on my own. I saw Walk the Line and I think it has changed my life. Anyway thats all I listen to is Johnny Cash and of course June too. Anyway I decided to run a search on Johnny Cash tattoos and I came up with some links.

A black and gray piece of Johnny Cash
a Johnny Cash tattoo done in black
a color tribute to Johnny Cash

I would consider a Johnny Cash tattoo… maybe someday…

also check out www.johnnycash.com for Johnny Cash info, downloads and images :)

my tattoos- my first and most recent

Monday, May 14th, 2007

Its funny… these tattoos are my first and my most recent…

050307_eviljoker.jpgThis one I got when I was only 19. It is actually a logo for a water bong company… but that is neither here nor there at this time… and no I didn’t get it for that reason… I actually liked it and I still like it today… it represents the wickedness of life… yet another example of something that is supposed to be happy, made evil… like me ;)

050307_medusa.jpg This is my medusa. I love her… well just as much as i love the rest of my tats… Yes she has to be finished… when the bank account allows… and before I get pregnant (in july)… the original flash only had one snake head… I wanted to add more so it was more medusa-like… I love mythology… I want more goddesses…

The site not only features tattoo enthusiasts but it also features tattoo artists and tattoo shops. The site also offers resources such as flash art, classifieds, chat and message boards.

If you are tattooed this is the place to go to find other tattooed people.

My Tattoos

Thursday, May 3rd, 2007

050307_dragon.jpgThis is my Dragon on my right arm. I received this From Nick Martinez at 12Monkey’s here in Tracy back in 2004. 1976 was the year of the Dragon. Thats the year I was born in and thats why I have it. It took 3 sittings (about 6 hours) to finish.

050307_devil.jpg This would be my devil pin-up girl. Nick Martinez is also responsible for this piece. I told him I wanted a devil girl he designed it for me and now its mine forever. I got it because of a situation I was going through at the time and felt I was being treated unfairly because I wasn’t conforming to the traditional woman sterotype. And as you can see I make it a point not to conform;)

20064414841.jpg This I recieved at Tattoo U II in Fremont,CA. I don’t remember the artist’s name :/ That happens to me… ha ha. For all you Sublime fans you will recognize this as the Sad Sun from the Second Hand Smoke Cd. I am a big Sublime fan, but I got it because I liked and and It represented something that was meant to be happy, but it was crying.

050307_butterflyskull.jpg This I received from an Artist who’s name I don’t remember at Wicked in Berkeley,Ca. I was there with a friend and my dragon was in process on my other arm. I loved the traditional design and If i’m not mistaken it is a Sailor Jerry Design. I was there with a friend who was gonna get a tat so I decided to get another as well.

050307_sparrows.jpgThis was also done by Nick Martinez at 12 monkeys. And yes it hurt like a bitch. But I love it. Love and Hate is classic and those two words RULE my life. The sparrows are Sailor Jerry sparrows and really just represent for me the beauty of traditional art.

I have more. I took some of these with my cell phone cam and sent them to my email. The network must be backed up because Its taking FOREVER to receive the others. It should be updated by tonight.

so stay tuned for Medusa… and AN evil Joker…. AND SOMEBODY’S NAME?!?!?!?!

oh my!
